gigglestheblood: (Doctor Who Ten)

Yo

I went to Kamas this weekend and didn't bring my computer, because I felt like I needed a break from it. I haven't been really doing anything on LJ, like commenting on posts that often, which is saying something since I usually lurk anyway. The break, which lasted about 24 hours, was good, now I feel motivated to comment on stuff and be more talkative in general. :)

Anyway, here's my DW reaction.

I fucking loved that episode so so hard. It reminded me a lot of The Haunting (1963 film, not the 1999 remake) because of how the fear and atmosphere was set up. The entire episode was brilliantly simple, lots of ominous knocking, creepy eyes and annoying repetition. All it takes to freak a bunch of already scared people out.

You know what? Ten started to get on my nerves this series, especially when he gets all angry and he talks through is teeth. Last week I said to my sisters, "I don't think I'll really mind when he regenerates because it's kind of getting old." I take it back. Totally take it back. Tennant was amazing in this and made me love the Doctor again.

The whole episode could have been so boring and stupid, but it was just so amazing and subtle and brilliant. Such a nice change from what's been going on this series. I've loved most of the series, but man, Midnight was just so different and fantastic.

Also, I think Rusty did a great job with Jesus!Doctor this time around, much much much more subtle. I would expand, but [livejournal.com profile] pepperlandgirl4 already wrote a fantastic episode analysis that discusses that. Go read it, it's awesome. (no spoilers for the last three episodes btw, if you're worried)
