gigglestheblood: (Doctor Who Five/Turlough)
( Apr. 14th, 2008 01:34 am)
Dude, I love the Fifth Doctor so much. I just watched The King's Demons, and it was so hilarious, and great. And Turlough was all tied up and hot. And Five was all adorable and scary at the same time, because he's awesome like that. And the Master was all campy and awesome. And the sword fight! And Turlough threatening the Master at the end! And Five's adorable grin at the end! I was in a kind of shitty mood all day, but that weird ass episode totally brightened my mood.

Speaking of the Fifth Doctor, I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] who_otp's Rare ships posting month and I'm going to be doing Five/Turlough on the 23rd. I'm excited, but I feel like such a Classic Who newb that I have no business covering that ship. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I haven't even seen all of the Turlough episodes yet. So, I'm planning on amping up my Doctor Who watching when school's over. I'd love to be able to see all of the Fifth Doctor episodes before I do the Five/Turlough post.

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I watch Rock of Love 2 every week, and I think the ending tonight was the only way a show like that could end. The last thing Bret said before the episode ended was, "Can we go have hot monkey sex now?" It really sums up the entire series perfectly: dignity, always dignity.

Well, I should have to go to bed now. Can't stay up till 4:00 tonight, unfortunately, stupid school and responsiblilities.

Remember that guy from my Italian class that I was bitching about? He didn't know anything about Star Trek, but he tried to be an elitist fan anyway. He also told me that Doctor Who sucks. Aaaanyway, he's doing it again. Today he asked me if I watch Battlestar Galactica (btw, just wanted to mention, he looks like Dwight Schrute) and I said no I do not. And he told me I should, because unlike Doctor Who, it doesn't suck. I rose to the bait, and argued with him for awhile about it. He said Doctor Who is lame because of how campy and silly it is, and I told him that's one of the many reasons that it is awesome. I prefer my Science Fiction to be campy, silly, and not take itself so seriously. I like drama as well of course, but that's why Doctor Who is awesome. It gives me silly camp and heart-wrenching drama as well. I think it's a good balance. Anyway, I told him that I think Battlestar Galactica takes itself too seriously, and then I told him to get a sense of humor. And he replied with, "I do have a sense of humor, I watch Mad TV."

And then I didn't talk for about five minutes because I couldn't stop laughing.

Then he started saying that Doctor Who couldn't even get good actors. He asked me who the main character of Doctor Who was, and I said, "The Doctor." "Is that it?" "Yes, you have seen the show haven't you?" "Yeah, well, they had to get an extra from Harry Potter to play him."

I have not seen the Harry Potter movie that Tennant was in, but I knew what he was talking about, and I know that the look on my face when he said that, was extreme confusion. What the hell does the fact that Tennant was in Harry Potter have to do with anything? I hate it when people judge actors performances on their past projects, seriously it does not matter, and it was a shitty argument. Then he said he hated Tennant's English accent, and all things British in fact, and I said, "He's not English, he's Scottish." And he argued with me about that! What the fuck, did he think I was making it up? Then he insulted Tennant's silly faces, and I just stopped talking to him.

Now from what I just said, it looks like this argument could have possibly been a good discussion about different shows, but it was not. I got carried away, and the volume of my voice steadily rose. By the time he started insulting David Tennant, I was nearly shrieking. I am not proud of this, in fact, I am ashamed of myself for rising to the bait so easily and arguing about something so trivial, but nevertheless, I am still terribly amused with the whole situation. Emphatic geeky arguments are the funniest kind, and should never be taken so seriously, and I will try to remember that the next time that guy talks to me.

Soooo, around 10:00 I thought to myself, "Self, you should go to bed." And then I started watching Futurama, and I wanted to make some macros. So I made macros instead of sleeping.

19 images under the cut, DW macros and one TW macro (The TW one is from the Jack/Ianto sex scene, but it's SFW, it's just their faces. )
