I was cleaning up my iTunes library and I discovered a few things:

  • I have a copy of "The Crying Game" even though I don't remember downloading or even ever listening to it.

  • I could never make a fanmix for Doctor Who because it would just end up being most of 69 Love Songs and various Franz Ferdinand songs. Not very mixy. So many songs off of 69 Love Songs work so well for The Doctor. "(Crazy For You But) Not That Crazy" perfectly describes The Doctor (Well, 9 and 10 anyway) and how he interacts with his companions. Everytime I listen to it I see a Doctor/Martha Doctor/Rose vid in my mind. "I built a ship / with my own hands / to take us to the Moon." "I pretended you were Jesus / you were just dying to save me." Dude. dude. You try telling me those lines aren't perfect Doctor/Martha Doctor/Rose lines. I really wish I could make vids.

  • I have 111 Joy Division songs, which I find odd because I never listen to them, even though I feel like I totally should.

  • I have 680 Beatles songs. Yeah. What's really crazy about that is I don't even think I have all of A Hard Day's Night, With The Beatles or Beatles For Sale. I guess most of those 680 songs are bootlegs, but I don't think I downloaded that many bootlegs.

  • It is possible for The Beatles to sound really shitty. Their 'version' of "House of The Rising Sun" was incredibly disappointing, of course you can tell they were just dicking around in the studio and didn't really care about how they sounded, but still. I discovered this in December, but I kind of forgot about it until it came up on my shuffle tonight.

  • I never listened to "A Garden" by Okkervil River, but as soon as it started playing it reminded me of Mrs. Dalloway. It was kind of incredible. I've never listened to a song and have it like, completely identify (is that the right word?) an entire book for me in 51 seconds. I read that book two years ago, and this song is totally making the details just rush back to me. Weird.

That last bullet point sounded kind of crazy. I think it's time for me to stop spamming and go to bed.

Okay first of all, because [livejournal.com profile] pepperlandgirl4 commandeth it, here is a link to her contest promoting her and[livejournal.com profile] eurydice72's new book, Chasing Silver. Here's the link to the contest info. If you cross post or link to the contest you get a free book from their back catalogue (and there's like, 20 of them, those women never stop writing!) and if you take a picture of Chasing Silver in a book store and email it to [livejournal.com profile] pepperlandgirl4 you get a free copy! So it's a super easy contest to get some awesome books. Chasing Silver is in all book stores (except Wal-Mart, they have a problem with time travel :P) so it should be pretty easy to find.

Okay, now let's talk about me. I have eaten half a pint of Ben and Jerry's Neopolitan Dynamite and half of a chocolate orange today. And I feel fine, and I'm not even hungry. WTF is wrong with me? I should probably try to find some real food soon.

Also, I did my math homework already, and I thought it would take me all night. So now I could either do other homework like things that I'm planning on taking care of this weekend, or I could look for more Beatles slash and read some BoB fic. hmmm... yeah I'm going to have to read some fanfic and waste time tonight. Woo!
