I have to see GI Joe now because Christopher Eccleston is in it, and I have to see Angels and Demons because Ewan is a hot priest. I will sit through a movie based on a Dan Brown book if I can see Ewan be a hot (and evil? is he evil and hot?) priest. Goddamn actors that I love being in stupid movies.

THE HAPPINESS MEME

Rules: For eight days you have to post something that made you happy that day.

This Doctor Who vid I don't know why I love the combination of corny 80s music and Doctor Who, but I really really do. I will always giggle like a mad woman when I see one.

This cover is making me want to read DW comics just so I can understand why Six is with a crazy looking scot and a penguin. Or maybe not, I like trying to form my own story that could involve those three. Mostly it just involves Six travelling through time and space with a penguin and that dude. When they get into scraps Six throws the penguin at people to distract them while the scot gets out his stabbin' knife! And like some Doctor/Companion relationships there is a whole bunch of UST, and a love triangle. Six and the scot are competing for the penguin's love.

I love how crazy the Who-verse can be. In my head.
1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

I didn't make this macro, but cardboard Ainley!Master is so funny!

And here's an extra picture of Five being all adorable.

Holy shit, Tennant's leaving

I am so shocked, and I don't know why. After the S4 finale and when it was announced that Moffat would be taking over, I thought Tennant would probably leave. But everybody kept on saying he wouldn't leave because he loves it so much, and I figured that would be the case and he would stay for S5. When I saw that link it was like a weird punch to the gut. This news has made me so much sadder than I thought it would.

In other news, the zombie movie I was in this summer got posted on Youtube, so I decided to post the embed.
Zombie movie embed under the cut! )

Last night I watched the Eighth Doctor Movie, and I think it wasn't that bad. I think it was the equivalent of an 'okay' episode of New Who. I liked the Eighth Doctor, it made me want to read some of the Eighth Doctor books and listen to some of the audios. Grace was cool too. I thought the line, "I've finally found the right man, and he's an alien!" was just total and utter shit, but that's not the character's fault. It was a corny line put in a scene in which it made no sense, and was probably just put in there for use in ads, but the stupidity of it really bugged me.

The main problem was obviously, the Master. People who think John Simm, or even Ainley, were campier than Eric Roberts are crazy. The snake thing was just so silly. The fact that he could spit venom made me laugh. Especially when the Doctor and Grace run into a room and there are four security guards standing there completely covered in the Master's venom. Can you imagine how much venom he had to hawk up for that? Christ that's disgusting. And hilarious. If someone who could actually act had played the Master, and if the whole snake thing was taken out, the movie would have been sooo much better.

I'm procrastinating at the moment. I finally figured out what I'm going to write for my Intellectual Traditions paper, so now that everything is so simple and it will be so easy to write, I can't be bothered to actually write it. It's due on Tuesday, so my brain is like, "You can do it tomorrow! Chillax!" And I totally agree.

Last night I had nightmares about The Exorcist and Sarah Palin.

I miss my Doctor Who dreams. :( I used to have dreams about going on adventures with Five and Turlough. Good times. I think I know how to fix this, I will have a DW marathon this weekend! Some good episodes of Old Who and New Who should cheer me right up.

I had a marathon of Doctor Who today with Kiry's sisters because they love the show, but only get to watch it on PBS since they don't get BBCA or SciFi. They never saw a few episodes of series 2, or any of series 3 or 4. So today we watched The Christmas Invasion, New Earth, Tooth and Claw, Love and Monsters, Army of Ghosts, Doomsday and Smith and Jones. It's fun to watch people watch Doctor Who eps for the first time. I watched these episodes two years ago, but to them every surprising twist is actually surprising. It's great fun to watch their reactions!

I love The Christmas Invasion, but I hate how OOC Rose was. In the rest of the episodes we watched today, Rose actually tried to do something productive when shit went down, and if she couldn't think of something productive, she smack talked. It's especially OOC since the episode before that she ripped open the TARDIS ffs. Vague spoilers for Journey's End )

I still love New Earth like [livejournal.com profile] pepperlandgirl4 loves cake, even though the solution was incredibly stupid. I guess in the future you can splash people with cures and they'll get all better.

Tooth and Claw is just a gorgeous episode. As I was watching it I just wanted to icon the hell out of it!

Surprisingly enough, even though I watched Love and Monsters a week ago, I cried a little bit during it. I think it's because I didn't get that much sleep last night. And Marc Warren is good at being incredibly sad.

Army of Ghosts was sure, um, Army of Ghosts. I liked it when Yvonne applauded the Doctor and he was like o.O, and Mickey was awesome, but other than that it's just set up like The Stolen Earth. Nothing too special, but not at all horrible.

Doomsday was still sad, but not as sad as it used to be for me. No tears this time! OH! When the Doctor didn't get a chance to say "I love you" to Rose, the girls flipped! It was hilarious! More vague spoilers for Journey's End )

The girls were worried what series 3 would be like without Rose, so we watched Smith and Jones instead of The Runaway Bride so they could see Martha. They all loved Rose, and when I told them about Martha they did not seem at all pleased, but I could tell they were warming up to her after watching the episode. I told them that it will just take a little while, but they can get over Rose and see how awesome Martha is. It took me all of series 3 and most of series 4, but it happened. :P

Right, so I got about 3-4 hours of sleep last night, so I'm going to make my dinner, lay down on the couch, watch some TV, and try to take a nap.

And I just want to cuddle the hell out of Elton! And Ursula is so awesome, and Jackie is so incredible and OMG I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH.

Do people seriously not like this episode because of the monster and the concrete face? Seriously? Because I can't think of anything else that would make this a bad episode. I think people who don't like it for those reasons are completely missing the point. Also, the fact that Ursula still has her glasses when she's absorbed is freaking hilarious. Oh man, Love and Monsters is everything I love about Doctor Who in one episode. Campy science fiction with amazing characters.

I need an Elton icon.

I was just watching a clip of Logopolis to see cardboard!Master, and I have a question for you all. Is there anything gayer than Ainley!Master? The man is so camp! I loved that bit when he looks like he's going to try to hit on Four, and Four looks so uncomfortable and shrugs the Master's arm off of him. I also love it when the Master storms off in huff. "You can have Logopolis for yourself! You big meanie! I never liked you anyway!"

Also, can I just say how much I love Tegan? At 5:01 in this clip she is so cute! "Earth... EARTH!"

5:42 is the only time in Old Who that I ever thought their foam set pieces actually looked heavy. In Fifth Doctor episodes whenever someone is trapped under something the thing they're trapped under goes all wobbly everytime they move.

Spec and worrying over the Doctor Who Series 4 finale (spoilers for The Stolen Earth) )

I was reading fandom_wank, and someone said that they are convinced that RTD writes episodes with the intent of pissing off fanboys, and I LOVE HIM SO HARD FOR THAT. The thought of him laughing to himself as he wrote, "The Face of Boe, they called me" makes me smile. Oh Rusty, I'm going to miss you, you crazy fucker.

When you see this post, quote from Doctor Who on your LJ.

Tegan: It'll soon be goodbye, then.
The Fifth Doctor: Will it?
Turlough: Well, you're off to Gallifrey to be President. I suppose your Time Lord subjects will find a TARDIS that really works, and get us both home.
The Fifth Doctor: Who said anything about Gallifrey?
Turlough: You told Chancellor Flavia...
The Fifth Doctor: I told her she had full powers until I returned.
Tegan: You're not going back??
The Fifth Doctor: You know - sometimes, Tegan, you take my breath away!
Turlough: Uh, won't the Time Lords be very angry?
The Fifth Doctor: Furious!
Tegan: You mean you're deliberately choosing to go on the run from your own people, in a rackety old TARDIS?
The Fifth Doctor: (smiling) Why not? After all...that's how it all started!

I love that whole exchange like a fat kid loves cake. It makes me smile like an idiot everytime I see it just because I love those three so much and I love the last two lines, they just end that special so perfectly. :)
